Community Kitchen
We use food as one of the foundations to change lives and strengthen the community.
Since lockdown, our communities have had no means to earn money. The majority of our families survive on a meal to meal existence and their biggest challenge now is how they can eat and remain safe.
Our team make and distribute a weekly family size food pack of rice, canned foods, dried fish or eggs and vegetables for families who have no other means of feeding themselves or their children.
With so many families now unable to feed themselves and their children our community clinic has reported the early signs of malnourishment and starvation in some children, as well as senior citizens and pregnant and nursing mothers. In response we now run a special feeding programme for the most at risk, preparing daily meals prepared by our cooks and volunteers in the community.
For those living in the rural areas we have provided OPV seeds and containers, organic fertilizers for the families to grow their own vegetables. Please donate https://staging.p-c-f.org/get-involved/donate/
£30.00 will provide a family size food pack which includes 15kg rice, 10 canned goods and fresh vegetables. It costs 75p a meal to feed a malnourished child with a vitamin supplement
