Pat Pritchard has kindly written a few words for us about the evening…
The Ladies of the Inner Wheel Club of Redditch decided to hold a Pudding Evening to aim to raise £1000 for the PCF. On the evening we had 60 people;my husband who is a retired headmaster MC’d the evening for us!
I started by telling everyone why we were there, how I had been inspired by Jane Walker and what she was trying to achieve and everyone seemed very moved and keen to help.
We had Charcuterie boards to share on each table with meat, olives, humus, greek salad and crusty bread to begin with and then my husband ran an Irish bingo.
All the ladies had made hot or cold puds;whilst everyone stood and clapped, my friend on his bag pipes piped us in and all the hot puds followed in a procession(bread and butter, sticky toffee, chocolate brownies, peach and brandy crumble, treacle sponge to name a few),all accompanied by custard, cream and ice cream.
There were also pavlova, pear frangipane, lemon mousse, sugar free trifle for diabetics and cheese and biscuits and gluten free chocolate cake etc.
My husband put some little quizzes on each table to complete whilst we were eating.
At the end of the meal we marked the quizzes-gave out the prizes and drew the raffle.
We had a stall from PCF selling items and we made some extra money from that.
Everyone entered into the evening and seemed to thoroughly enjoy it!
We would like to extend our sincerest thank you to all the ladies of the Inner Wheel club of Redditch and everyone who attended the evening. What a ‘delicious’ idea and impressive outcome we are so grateful.
